Top brass at ABC News and its parent company Disney have asked the ladies of The View to dial back their constant complaining about President Donald Trump.

ABC News President Almin Karamehmedovic and Disney CEO Bob Iger made the requests separately, The Daily Beast reported.

The daily talk show has been filled with criticisms of the commander-in-chief and his policies, with mostly kind words for Democrats.

The hosts welcomed former President Joe Biden and his wife Jill to the show two weeks ago, during which Biden revealed that he still believed he could have beaten Trump in the 2024 election.

The first request to tone down the opinion show’s political rhetoric reportedly came from Karamehmedovic during a meeting with The View’s executive producer and its hosts.

Karamehmedovic, who was named ABC News president in August, had suggested the women needed to broaden their conversations, highlighting episodes with celebrity guests that he said earned high ratings.

Hosts Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Sara Haines, Ana Navarro, Sunny Hostin, and even lone conservative Alyssa Farah Griffin all declined.

The women found the requests ‘silly,’ the Daily Beast reported, and they ultimately decided ‘they were just going to keep doing their thing.’

The panel also defended their approach by saying that talking politics ‘is what our audience wants,’ the Daily Beast reported, adding the hosts believe it would ‘look kinda of bad’ if they dropped the discussions.

Navarro in particular argued viewers typically tune in to hear the panel’s perspective on politics.

The former Republican-turned-‘centrist’ heard from Iger about the show’s programming at a glitzy Disney media event in New York last week.

There, she thanked him for allowing the hosts to ‘continue doing their jobs in a politically turbulent environment,’ the Daily Beast reported.

Iger reportedly expressed his support for the show but made clear it needed to pull back on politics.

ABC News did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

A source familiar with the situation countered that the hosts’ meeting with Karamehmedovic was merely business as usual.

‘We constantly have conversations with talent based on viewer feedback and this instance was no different,’ the source told DailyMail.com.

The request comes as media companies continue to look for ways to avoid Trump’s wrath.

The president filed a $20billion lawsuit against CBS News over a 60 Minutes interview with Kamala Harris last year that he claims was deceptively edited.

Shari Redstone, the heiress of CBS parent company Paramount Global, has sought to settle the suit while pursuing a media merger with Skydance.

The Trump administration must approve the deal, which won’t happen until a settlement between CBS News and Trump is reached.

ABC settled a defamation suit filed by Trump in December of last year, agreeing to a $16 million settlement over George Stephanopoulos saying on-air that the president was found ‘liable for rape.’

Ratings for The View remain relatively impressive.

The show was the No. 1 among daytime network talk shows and news programs during the first quarter of 2025, beating rival broadcasts on Fox, NBC, and CBS.
