SHOCKING MOMENT: Iranian-American eviscerates Whoopi Goldberg for US-Iran comparison

In a controversial episode of “The View,” Whoopi Goldberg shocked many when she made a comparison between the life of Black people in America and living conditions under the Iranian regime. She suggested that the situation for Black Americans might not be so different from living in Iran.

This remark sparked outrage, particularly from the Iranian-American community, including Iranian-American lawyer and activist Elica Le Bon, who strongly condemned Goldberg’s comment.

During an interview with the media, Le Bon expressed her deep anger upon hearing Goldberg’s statement. She criticized the lack of understanding and ignorance behind the comparison, saying, “She doesn’t understand what it’s like to live under a regime like Iran’s, where people are hanged from cranes every 6 hours.”

Le Bon further explained that Iran’s regime doesn’t just oppress its people, but it also abuses them. She pointed out that just two weeks ago, the Iranian government amputated the arms of two people accused of theft, and they had no due process or fair trials.

Le Bon continued her remarks by emphasizing how the Iranian regime violently suppresses protests. “When protesters take to the streets to challenge the regime, they are met with brutal force—many are shot to death, some even have their eyes shot out as punishment.”

Her message was clear—there is no comparison between the freedom that people have in the United States and the oppression faced by those living under the Iranian regime.

The Iranian-American lawyer questioned how Goldberg, who is fortunate enough to live in the United States, could equate the experiences of Black Americans with the dire situation in Iran. She expressed her disbelief at how Goldberg, in her position of privilege, could make such an offensive comparison.

“How dare you compare the life you are fortunate enough to live in the United States with what people in Iran are going through?” Le Bon challenged Goldberg’s understanding of freedom and oppression.

Le Bon also pointed out that Goldberg has a history of making problematic statements, citing her controversial comments about the Holocaust, where she claimed it was not about race.

“The Holocaust was not about race,” Goldberg had said, causing outrage among many who felt she was downplaying the horrific, racially-motivated genocide. Le Bon criticized Goldberg for her ignorance, saying it was willfully blind to the suffering of those living under oppressive regimes, such as Iran’s.

Le Bon’s powerful response not only highlighted the dangers of making ignorant comparisons but also called for a deeper understanding of the real struggles faced by people in authoritarian regimes. She expressed her frustration with Goldberg’s words, which trivialized the suffering of those living in countries like Iran.

In conclusion, Le Bon’s remarks were a passionate call to recognize the difference between the freedoms people enjoy in the U.S. and the human rights abuses occurring in countries like Iran. She challenged Goldberg, and others who make such comparisons, to truly understand what it means to live under a regime where basic freedoms are denied and where dissent is met with violence and oppression. Her statement stands as a reminder of the importance of acknowledging the lived experiences of others, especially when discussing sensitive topics such as human rights and oppression.
