White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt didn’t hold back on insults while criticizing Democrat Stacey Abrams during a Tuesday appearance on Fox News.

Leavitt mocked Abrams for her warnings about America sliding toward authoritarianism, telling host Jesse Watters, “I can’t believe I heard stupid Stacey Abrams say that deportations kill democracy.”

She added, “News flash, Stacey: Wide-open borders kill democracy, and that’s what the American people voted against,” before attacking “radical” Democrats for opposing the harsh immigration crackdown sweeping across U.S. communities.

Leavitt’s remarks came after Abrams appeared on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” Monday night, where she expressed concerns about President Donald Trump’s expansion of executive power and his blaming of immigrants and vulnerable groups for economic and political problems.

Abrams highlighted the recent surge in ICE raids and deportations as examples of a government encouraging “private violence,” saying, “You send the U.S. Marines into spaces they should not be. You send the National Guard in. You kidnap people off the streets and pretend that’s normal, because that’s how you quiet dissent, because you make everyone afraid that if they don’t do what you want, they might be next.”

She warned that the final step toward authoritarianism would be when “you decide there won’t be new elections because everyone is either afraid, poor, broken, or complicit.”
