Whoopi Goldberg distracted by a haunting presence on 'The View'

Investigators of the paranormal, psychic mediums, and/or religious leaders imbued with the power of exorcism, we implore you! Please train your focus on the set of The View, which, as of Monday morning’s telecast, once again confirmed its status as perhaps the most haunted place in America.

After years of unknown entities wafting through the show’s airspace, thunderclaps of aural interruptions emanating from mysterious places on set, or even a sudden invasion of pens falling to the ground like a rain of frogs during the biblical apocalypse, yet another on-set occurrence recently broke through the supernatural realm and made contact with the talk show’s cohosts.

After Ghost actress and show moderator Whoopi Goldberg introduced a Hot Topics discussion about Donald Trump potentially accepting an expensive airplane courtesy of Qatar, she attempted to open the chat up to her colleagues. Or at least she thought.

“[Republicans] spent years — four years, six years — bitching about Hunter Biden, tracking him and, ‘We paid for all of those things.’ Isn’t this the same thing?” Goldberg asked, before her gaze broke and her head turned toward a powerful force swooping by her field of vision.

“Oop,” Goldberg exclaimed as her eyes followed the object. “What was that?”

The other cohosts continued as if nothing had happened, with Goldberg muttering under her breath, “That was weird,” before apparently (and way too casually) accepting that she (seemingly) works in a TV studio straddling the line between earth and another dimension.

Entertainment Weekly has reached out to a representative for The View for more information on what exactly breached the set.

Monday’s development was far from the first time Goldberg has come across otherworldly phenomena.

In September 2023, during a serious investigation into alien bodies, Goldberg actually got up from the Hot Topics table to approach a large screen displaying what appeared to be a deceased extraterrestrial.

“It’s not a puppet,” Goldberg determined. “It doesn’t seem to be. I mean, it’s definitely dead.”

Later, in March 2024, the 69-year-old Oscar winner decreed that alien beings are, in fact among us — and have been for a long time.

Show guest Kumail Nanjiani first quipped, “I think [aliens are] waiting for us to clean up a little bit so that they can come here and tell us we’re really messing things up,” before Goldberg spoke of her findings.

“They’re already here,” she said, calmly. “They’re already… They’ve been here for quite some time.”

The View airs weekdays at 11 a.m. ET/10 a.m. PT on ABC.
