The two were discussing the Maryland parents who brought their children’s public school to court, demanding that the school remove their children from elementary school classes using storybooks with LGBTQ characters.The books included titles such as Uncle Bobby’s Wedding and The Prince and Knight.

MacCallum was discussing the issue with Weingarten, who supported having diverse books such as the above titles in the school.

MacCallum brought up Maryland’s education rankings and began arguing that schools should focus on reading and math, not improving the diversity of the book choices.

As the host began citing Maryland’s education statistics and talking about the correlation between money and education, she was shockingly interrupted by her guest.
