Standing at almost 7 feet tall, Barron Trump — the youngest son of President Donald Trump—has had thousands of admirers wonder about his eating and exercise regimen.

At only 19 years old, the first son towers over both his father and mother, Melania. While both Trump and his wife have offered a small glimpse into their son’s healthy appetite, the Daily Mail has managed to get a closer look at what Barron eats daily and what sports he enjoys to stay fit and active.

The outlet reported that prior to attending NYU, the youngest Trump son would often skip the lunches at Oxbridge Academy, preferring to eat at home, where his late grandmother, Amalija, would cook for him. “It was buffet style,” a friend of Barron’s recalled of the Academy’s cafeteria.

“They had American food, Asian and Indian food,” they recalled. “There was a salad bar, a fruit bar, on special holidays they would serve steak.”

Barron’s friend added that the first son “always went to the lunchroom to sit with his friends, but he never ate any lunch.” They added, “He never specifically said why, just that he would wait until he got home to eat. It was a little unusual.”

According to both his parents, Amalija was responsible for Barron’s shocking height. “Boy, did she take care of Barron,” Trump once told The Telegraph regarding his late mother-in-law, who passed away at the age of 78 in January 2024.

“That’s how he got so tall, he only ate her food,” the president added. “With her passion for cooking, she transported every dish, which she curated with her spices from her garden, to new heights,” Melania added.

“I’m fortunate that she taught me many of her secrets to creating the signature delights,” the first lady added. Reports indicate that a traditional Slovanian diet is typically hearty and features plenty of meat, dairy and seasonal vegetables.

Popular dishes from the cuisine include idrijski žlikrofi, traditional Slovenian dumplings, Kranjska kilobase, a parboiled sausage, and bograč, a hearty stew made with various meats such as pork, beef, venison, and boar, as well as potatoes. As for exercise, Barron “loved” to play football, despite his father’s concerns.

Speaking with The Overlap, Wayne Rooney revealed that he was once asked by the president to give his son lessons. “He asked me to give his son football lessons,” Rooney, who had been the coach of DC United at the time, said. It was reported that Rooney had attended a Christmas party at the White House, where he met the Trumps.

“Barron said: ‘Do you want to see my dad?” He took me up into the Oval Office and then from there, his PA was just texting: ‘Do you wanna play a few holes?’” Trump also touted that his son was a big soccer player.
