Simone Biles drew considerable backlash from actor Rob Schneider and fellow gymnast MyKayla Skinner after the Team USA star got embroiled in an ugly war of words over the transgender athlete debate.

Last week, Biles kickstarted a heated social media spat with Riley Gaines, who’s routinely spoken out against trans athletes competing in girls and women’s sports. Most recently, the former swimmer slammed Champlin Park for winning the Minnesota Girls State Softball Championship with the help of a trans athlete.

In response, Biles labeled Gaines a “bully” and claimed she was “truly sick” while likening her appearance to that of a man. Her comments swiftly caused a stir online, as ex-NFL star-turned-politician Jay Feely clapped back at the gymnast while former NASCAR driver Danica Patrick called for “common sense” to prevail.

Biles later walked back her brutal digs directed at Gaines in a public apology that the conservative pundit accepted under certain conditions.

“I wanted to follow up from my last tweets,” Biles wrote on X. “I’ve always believed competitive equity & inclusivity are both essential in sport.

“The current system doesn’t adequately balance these important principles, which often leads to frustration and heated exchanges, and it didn’t help for me to get personal with Riley, which I apologize for.

“These are sensitive, complicated issues that I truly don’t have the answers or solutions to, but I believe it starts with empathy and respect.”

In the aftermath of the ugly online feud, several influential figures have continued to take Gaines’ side in the matter. Taking to social media, Schneider wrote: “I am proud to call Riley Gaines my biological female friend. And an American hero of all girls everywhere!”

Skinner — who competed alongside Biles at the Tokyo Olympics in 2021 — expressed a similar sentiment while criticizing her former teammate’s comments.

“It’s deeply troubling to see @Simone_Biles publicly label a fellow female athlete a ‘sore loser’ – simply for expressing valid concerns about fairness in women’s sports,” Skinner began.

“I commend and appreciate @Riley_Gaines_ for having the courage to speak up. Women like her are not only standing for fairness, but for the future of female athletics itself. She deserves support – not ridicule.

“It’s one thing to disagree. It’s another to use your platform to bully and demean. No one should be punished for standing up for fairness and biological reality. We should be lifting each other up – not tearing one another down for speaking hard truths.”

Turning her attention back to Biles, Skinner claimed that the 28-year-old frequently “belittled” and “ostracized” her during their time together on the U.S. gymnastics circuit.

“Throughout my own career, I endured being belittled, dismissed and ostracized behind the scenes by Simone,” she alleged. “The pressure to stay silent was immense. I kept quiet out of respect – for the sport, for my teammates, and for the ideal of unity among athletes.
