Angel Reese was in no mood for clipboards during the Chicago Sky’s loss to the Washington Mystics on Tuesday.

The Sky came up short at the EagleBank Arena, losing 81-79 in a tense affair.

Reese made a late surge in the game, but her efforts were not enough to secure a victory for her team. And she wasn’t a happy camper while scores were tied at 77-77 with seconds left on the clock.

The former LSU forward was walking to the Chicago bench when a coach stepped in front of her with a clipboard extended. She angrily smacked it to the floor before going off on her teammates.

“She could have picked it up and they would give her another mebound!” one fan joked.

“WNBA needs more of this. Needs a Ron artest and more cat fights,” another suggested.

“The lack of respect for the coach is actually hilarious,” said a third.

Angel Reese Secures Another Double-Double, But Not The Win

The teams were near even in the first quarter, with Washington holding an edge, ending the first period with a 22-19 lead, with Brittney Sykes doing the heavy lifting and hitting some clutch baskets down the stretch. She would score a crucial layup with less than a minute to go.

Rookie Sonia Citron also hit a key three to help stave off a comeback attempt from Chicago.

Reese, meanwhile, registered a double-double, scoring 14 points and 13 rebounds. She put up a valiant effort as the Sky matched the Mystics basket for basket in the fourth.

Both teams scored 25 fourth-quarter points, but Washington did just enough to close the contest out. The win moves them closer to playoff contention at 9-10, while Chicago drops to 5-13.

The Sky will be back in action against the Dallas Wings this Wednesday.
