Exclusive: Joe and Mika Are Getting Hitched | Vanity Fair

“Morning Joe” co-host Joe Scarborough has opened up about his love for his co-host and bride-to-be Mika Brzezinski, saying, “She makes me better.”

Scarborough spoke with SiriusXM’s Donny Deutsch on his show “Dialing Donny” on Thursday. He told the host he realized Brzezinski was the one after his dad passed away, then got divorced a year later at age 50.

“I realized after a couple of years of just sorta slinking around my house and being depressed … I was being Bridget Jones,” he told the host. “You know I realized that she was the one and everything has worked out.”

He added, “She makes me better, I try to make her better. … You always hear about co-anchors fighting each other and kinda trying to get a leg up on the other. With us I found out that she would … be going to war for me. I would go to war for her.“

On their chemistry — and constant on-air bickering — he told Deutsch, “It was also kinda very intense. … If there’s a problem you put it on the table immediately. If it gets ugly it gets ugly. You go there and you fight through it. And I will tell you the blessing for us is, we always knew we had to take care of things by 6 a.m. the next morning so we couldn’t go to sleep mad at each other.
