Former New York Giants star and current TV anchor Michael Strahan is reportedly on the verge of extending his contract with ABC’s ‘Good Morning America’ after all.

The Pro Football Hall of Famer has been juggling his role as a presenter on ‘Good Morning America’ while also serving as an analyst for ‘FOX NFL Sunday.’ Strahan recently bid a heartfelt farewell to his hosting gig on the game show ‘The $100,000 Pyramid,’ leaving fans with an emotional sign-off.

However, it seems the NFL legend is about to get a boost with a new deal from ABC. According to Semafor, Strahan is expected to renew his contract with ABC, continuing his role as a host on ‘Good Morning America.’

For nearly a decade, the former Giants defensive end has been crisscrossing the country between New York and Los Angeles, balancing his roles on GMA and FOX.

His new contract, however, is anticipated to ease his GMA schedule, allowing Strahan to appear less than five times per week. This adjustment will better accommodate his travel to Los Angeles for FOX’s NFL coverage and provide more time for family.

Since retiring in 2007 after helping the Giants clinch the Super Bowl in a stunning victory over Tom Brady and the New England Patriots, Strahan has embarked on a bustling media career. He has become a regular face on FOX, sharing the screen with the likes of Terry Bradshaw, Jimmy Johnson, and Howie Long.

Back in 2010, Strahan stepped in as a guest host on ‘Live! with Regis and Kelly,’ teaming up with Kelly Ripa while Regis Philbin was away.

After Philbin’s exit in November 2011, Strahan popped up as a guest host and ultimately snagged the spot as Ripa’s permanent sidekick.

Fast-forward to 2016, and Strahan made his move to be a full-timer on GMA.

Buzz earlier this year hinted that Strahan was eyeing an exit from GMA when summer rolled around and his contract wrapped up.

“It’s a lot,” dished one insider to NewsNation. “He wants to spend more time with his family.”

Though it seemed Strahan might juggle less with a new deal and a tailored GMA schedule on the cards, meaning more family time without the demanding travel.
