American Idol Runner-Up John Foster Made His Grand Ole Opry Debut On June 7

 

John Foster is returning to the Grand Ole Opry.

Foster is quickly becoming a breakout star in the country music scene after competing on Season 23 of American Idol.

The 18-year-old made it all the way to the finale, finishing in second place.

Since then, he’s made several special appearances, including a performance at the Cajun Country Jam in his home state of Louisiana, where he shared the stage with country star Craig Morgan.

But, one of the biggest moments Foster has checked off his bucket list since his time on Idol was making his Grand Ole Opry debut during CMA Fest weekend in Nashville, Tennessee.

He was part of a legendary lineup that night. Other artists who also performed included Old Crow Medicine Show and Opry’s longest-serving member, Bill Anderson.

 

 

During his time on the iconic Opry stage, Foster performed Alan Jackson and George Strait’s classic “Murder on Music Row.” He also wowed the audience with a rendition of “How Great Thou Art.”

 

John Foster Will Be Returning To The Opry

 

Just a week after making his debut, John Foster announced that he will be returning to the Grand Ole Opry stage.

This time, he’ll be celebrating his 19th birthday right in the Opry circle.

“Playing the @opry was one of the biggest honors of my life,” Foster wrote in his announcement post. “Now, I have the pleasure of celebrating my 19th birthday there on July 9th!”

Other artists set to take the stage that night include Opry members The Issacs and Jamey Johnson.

Fans filled the comments section with congratulations, saying how excited they are to see him once again at the Opry.

“So incredibly happy for you John Foster! I followed your American Idol Journey and I am such a huge fan! Cannot wait til the day I can see you perform and I hope it’s at the Opry,” one fan said.

“Soooo proud of you!! Go get em John!” wrote another.

“you were made for this! I’m literally so proud of you. Just to think about where you were a few months ago to now. You took a chance and now look!!! God is so good! I’m gonna try to make this one. i’m so proud,” fellow Idol alum Breanna Nix said.
