Jenna Hager Bush might be the main host of TODAY with Jenna & Friends, but she decided to take the back seat when it came to her co-host “mansplaining” while answering a question from a viewer.

Jenna Hager Bush began hosting TODAY with Jenna & Friends after Hoda Kotb left the show in January. Since then, Bush, daughter of the 43rd US President George Bush, has had some wild times on the show hanging with guests such as Scarlett Johansson and even “splitting the G” on Saint Patrick’s Day.

But what Bush had yet to experience was taking the passenger seat as her co-host, Willie Giest, “mansplained” to a viewer what they should do when it came to buying their wife a gift for her birthday.

“My wife told me she wanted a specific piece of jewelry for her birthday. I went to the store and saw something I know she would like more. What do I do?” Bush read as she turned her head to Giest who began laughing at the question.

“I don’t like the term ‘mansplaining’ but isn’t that the definition of it?” Giest said while Bush sat next to him hysterically laughing.

“No, trust me, sweetheart you’re going to like this better, I know what’s good for you,” he added, doing an impression of a husband “mansplaining”.

“Get her the thing she wants!” Giest then insisted, prompting Jenna to chime in saying “right!”.

“I mean people, women, tell their husbands that because they’re tired of the things you want,” Bush explained.

“That’s right,” Giest added.

“They want what they want,” Jenna concluded.

Although the hosts insisted that the viewer get their wife the one thing she asked for, others in the comments of the clip posted on TikTok tended to disagree.

Many users suggested that the viewer who submitted the question should get their wife “both”.

“then get her both,” a user commented.

“Get both and a gift receipt,” another commented.

“Or get her BOTH!!!,” another wrote in the comments.
