“I never thought I’d say this, but I’m ready to walk away” – Gayle King STIRS shockwaves with explosive admission as CBS faces turmoil over hiring of a hardline editor, fueling fears of an internal WAR that could tear apart one of TV’s most trusted news brands
Gayle King’s startling words have sent shockwaves through the media world, leaving colleagues and viewers stunned. With CBS preparing to install a new editor-in-chief infamous for rejecting so-called “woke” narratives, the network is bracing for a possible identity crisis. King, a veteran anchor whose presence has long defined the tone of the broadcast, admitted she feels dangerously close to leaving, hinting at a breaking point that insiders say could spark a clash of visions inside the newsroom. The idea of one of the network’s most recognizable voices walking away has set off speculation about whether CBS can hold its reputation intact while navigating this shift.
Could this be the first sign of a dramatic power struggle within one of America’s biggest networks? To see why King’s confession has insiders whispering about upheaval and what her future may really hold, dive into the full story now.

Anti-woke former New York Times opinion editor Bari Weiss will be announced as the new editor-in-chief of CBS News on Monday.
The network – which is trying to rebuild its reputation after losing a multimillion dollar lawsuit to Donald Trump – will also acquire her publication, The Free Press, for around $150million.
Weiss will report directly to Skydance Paramount CEO David Ellison, whose company Skydance recently merged with CBS’ owners at Paramount.
Tom Cibrowski will remain CBS News’ president but Weiss will not have to report to him.
Weiss has been ‘informally consulting’ CBS for ‘a while,’ a source previously told The Daily Mail.
For the time being, Weiss’ The Free Press will remain separate from CBS News itself while she takes the reins.
The talks regarding positions and control remain ‘in flux and could change,’ a source told The New York Post.
The Daily Mail has reached out to CBS News and Weiss for comment.

Weiss will report directly to Skydance Paramount CEO David Ellison, whose company Skydance recently merged with CBS’ owners at Paramount
Weiss, 41, who quit the New York Times in 2020 over its ‘illiberal environment,’ counts more than 1.25million subscribers to The Free Press, Axios reported.
Her expected hiring by new Paramount Skydance CEO Ellison, the son of billionaire Trump ally Larry Ellison, is set to make waves within the CBS newsroom after a tumultuous year.
In October, Donald Trump sued the network over a 60 Minutes interview with Kamala Harris that he claimed was deceptively edited.
In the spring, 60 Minutes Executive Producer Bill Owens and CBS News CEO Wendy McMahon both resigned over concerns with the company’s direction.
Paramount ultimately agreed to pay Trump $16 million to settle the lawsuit.
That settlement paved the way for the administration’s approval of an $8billion merger between Skydance Media and Paramount last month.
Staff at CBS News are now fretting over the expected arrival of Weiss, who has regularly criticized the state of legacy media and left-leaning views.
‘There’s real fear in the building right now,’ our source said.

‘Veteran reporters who’ve been here for decades are whispering about whether they’ll still have a job by the end of the year.’
A source told The Wrap that Paramount is expecting resignations once Weiss is hired.
‘Staff morale is at an all-time low. People are scared, plain and simple,’ our source added. ‘Everyone knows a news boss mean big changes, and no one feels secure.’
Weiss has surfaced a fierce critic of legacy media after leaving the Times in 2020.
Ellison, meanwhile, is the 42-year-old son of Larry Ellison, a long-time Republican donor worth roughly $300billion.
He is an actor turned producer with no background in news, but is bolstered by his deputy, former NBCUniversal exec Jeff Shell
