Jenna Bush Hager admitted her fears over getting in trouble with the boss after she accidentally swore on air.

The popular presenter was hosting Today with Jenna & Friends on Thursday, July 24, alongside guest co-host Willie Geist as they discussed their history when Jenna lost control of what she was saying. As they discussed Willie’s wife Christina, who Jenna calls “Tini,” she recalled the first time she had met her in 2012 when their son George was three years old.

Jenna explained, “Christina goes — I don’t know if you can say this — but he was like, ‘God, George is acting like an a——,’“ Willie and the crew imediately shared shocked expressions as they exclaimed, “You can’t say that. You can’t say it.”

Jenna continued with her story as she was told by the producers that she couldn’t say the word on NBC, to which she asked, “Can you say it one time?” Willie, who usually hosts Sunday Today then quipped, “No. You can say it zero times.”

Jenna then covered her face with her hands as she said, “Oh, sorry, sorry, everybody’s looking at me like ‘why did you say that?’“ Willie then teased her saying, “I’m looking at you like ‘why did you say that?’ I’d like to go on the record that my wife never said such a thing about my precious three-year-old son.”

Jenna quickly retorted, “She did! Now I’m blushing and I never blush. Was it the tequila? I thought you were allowed to say it one time.”

Taunting the producers further Jenna then asked, “That’s just Schitt’s Creek?” referencing the hit comedy show in response to being told no swearing is allowed. Willie then said, “That’s just the title of the show spelled differently. Don’t keep going down the line of expletives. This stops here. And we are live on NBC this morning!”

Jenna then admitted, “I feel worried like I’m going to get a call from the boss or something,” as Willie reassured her, “No, you’re fine. You’re good.”

As the show continued the subject of Jenna’s slip kept coming back up, with NBC correspondent Peter Alexander coming onto the studio set to also tease her.

She said, “I’m still stuck in a moment and I’m trying to get out of it. I’m still stuck in a moment, and here’s Peter Alexander from the White House coming over to shame me. I was told you could say it one time!”

Willie then chimed in, “You were not told! No, you were not told. Peter, you’re making it worse, just…” Jenna added, “I feel bad! Peter, please go. The shame is all-encompassing. I’m sorry. I apologize to everybody. I apologize.”

Later in the show Jenna also joked about, “ruining my job, ruining my career,” before telling Willie, “I want to be in a shame ball and go eat some Smashburger tacos … why did I do it? Why did I do it? Where did it come from?”
