A new camera angle from a fan shows just how dirty Jacy Sheldon’s eye poke was on Caitlin Clark during Tuesday night’s heated contest in Indiana.

To say that tensions boiled over in Tuesday’s contest between the Indiana Fever and Connecticut Sun would be a massive understatement. Sheldon, teammate Lindsay Allen and Fever guard Sophie Cunningham were all ejected in the heated affair, and that’s before mentioning the flagrant and technical fouls issued throughout the contest.

The tension between the two teams escalated in the third quarter, when Jacy Sheldon was issued a flagrant one foul for her eye poke on Caitlin Clark. That led to a brief scuffle between the two teams, with Marina Mabrey getting a technical foul for her unnecessary cheap shot on Clark:

Let’s just say that the television camera showing Sheldon’s eye poke at Clark doesn’t do justice. This camera angle from a fan shows just how dirty it was:

At any rate, the Fever got the last laugh with an 88-71 blowout victory. Playing in her second game since returning from injury, Caitlin Clark had 20 points, six assists and two steals in the win.

The Fever have won four of their last five games and sit at 6-5 heading into Thursday night’s road game against the Golden State Valkyries. The Sun will try to get back on track when they host the Phoenix Mercury tonight at 7:00 p.m.

That will be the third of four regular-season meetings between the two clubs, with Indiana visiting Connecticut one more time on Aug. 17.
