Both men, dressed in chic black suits with bow ties, stood side by side on a platform that was crowded with a string and horn section as the show began with a quiet piano. As the orchestra joined in and his father grinned as he waited his turn on stage, Matteo Bocelli sung in a calm voice, “I thought sooner or later/ The lights up above/ Will come down in circles and guide me to love/ But I don’t know what’s right for me.”
