According to Daily Mail, rapper Diddy was threatened with a knife inside his cell by another inmate. The incident occurred after the rapper had been sentenced to more than four years in prison.

Longtime friend Charlucci Finney revealed that Diddy narrowly escaped death when an inmate sneaked into his room at the Metropolitan Detention Center (MDC) in Brooklyn — a facility notorious for violence — and pressed a homemade knife against his throat.

“He woke up and saw the blade at his neck,” Finney said. “I don’t know if he fought back or if the guards intervened, but it definitely happened.”

Finney added that the incident was more of a warning than an actual murder attempt. Because of the charges related to sexual misconduct, Diddy has become a target among other prisoners.

“Inmates see that as an unforgivable offense. They try to enforce what they call ‘prison justice.’ If that guy wanted to kill him, Diddy would be dead. This was more like a threat — ‘Next time, you won’t be so lucky.’ But Sean’s from Harlem; he’s not someone who folds easily,” Finney said.

Previously, Diddy’s lawyer had repeatedly warned of potential violence during the trial. The attorney revealed that another inmate once tried to attack Diddy with a homemade weapon “to gain prison notoriety,” but guards intervened in time.

Diddy’s legal team has requested that he be transferred to FCI Fort Dix in New Jersey, a facility with better security and living conditions, where he could attend rehabilitation programs and be closer to his family.

The 55-year-old rapper is currently serving a 4-year sentence and has been fined $500,000 after being convicted of transporting individuals to sex parties and drug use. He was previously acquitted of human trafficking and organized crime charges.

While incarcerated, Diddy has been teaching a course titled “Free Game with Diddy,” focused on entrepreneurship, earning positive feedback from mentors. Before sentencing, he wrote a letter to Judge Arun Subramanian, asking for “a second chance” and affirming his commitment to live peacefully and stay away from violence and drugs.

However, Judge Subramanian still handed down the four-year sentence, criticizing Diddy’s “cruel and violent behavior” toward his ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura, even though he was not directly convicted in that related case.

After sentencing, rumors circulated that U.S. President Donald Trump was considering commuting Diddy’s sentence — a claim the White House later completely denied.

Diddy is expected to be released at the end of 2028, provided there are no changes to his sentence. Meanwhile, his legal team continues to appeal the verdict.
