A Bright Light Gone Too Soon: Celebrating Claire’s Love, Joy, and Spirit.1992

Claire Violet Laibinis. October 20th, 2017 – August 27th, 2024. Forever 6, Neuroblastoma.

Sweet Claire passed away early Tuesday morning after a courageous battle with Neuroblastoma that began in June 2020.

She was a bright, kind, and loving child who brought joy to everyone she met.
She loved playing with dolls and watching movies, finding small moments of happiness despite the challenges she faced.

Her family, friends, and caregivers watched closely over her final days, determined to make her as comfortable as possible.
On Saturday, Claire left PCH and checked into Ryan House in the afternoon, a facility designed to provide comfort and care to children in heartbreaking circumstances.

Many of Kenny’s family members flew in to see her.
Even in such a difficult time, they celebrated with a birthday party complete with cake and candies, honoring the spirit of Claire and the joy she brought to those around her.

Claire remained fairly alert on Saturday and Sunday, engaging with her family and enjoying small interactions.
Monday proved more difficult, as her illness progressed and fatigue weighed heavily on her tiny body.

Kate went home with Dianne’s parents, while the boys stayed at the facility to keep Claire company.

Crys arrived around 9:30pm that evening.
Shortly afterward, Claire’s breathing became more labored.

Medications were administered to ease her discomfort and keep her peaceful.

Kenny arrived at approximately 11:30pm.
Troy was tucked into the companion bed, and Blake slept in another room.
Dianne snuggled Claire, holding her close, while Kenny curled up at the foot of her bed, keeping her hand in his.

Chaz stayed by her side, stroking her hair and watching for any signs of distress.
Crys carefully administered medications to maintain her comfort as much as possible.

At 1:04am, Tuesday morning, Claire transitioned peacefully from this world.

She was cradled in her mother’s arms, and her father still held her hand.
A family friend, Crys Melton, shared the moment, noting the grace and peace surrounding her final moments.

Claire’s final days were a testament to love, courage, and dignity.
Her family worked tirelessly with doctors and specialists to focus on comfort measures only, knowing that her condition was no longer curable.

The neuroblastoma had spread, affecting many systems in her body, and palliative care guided the family in making her remaining time as gentle and loving as possible.

The decision to move Claire to Ryan House allowed her to be surrounded by family in a home-like environment, where she could feel safe, loved, and free from hospital routines.

Every member of her family played a role in providing comfort, from holding her hand, stroking her hair, to whispering words of love.
Even in her final hours, she was surrounded by warmth, attention, and compassion — a reflection of the extraordinary life she lived in just six short years.

Though her body succumbed to illness, the love she inspired continues to ripple through everyone she touched.
Her siblings expressed their love in simple, heartfelt ways — drawing pictures, taping rainbows and stars to the wall, small gestures that symbolized hope, care, and connection.

Messages of love and support from friends, family, and strangers poured in, lifting the family during their darkest hours.

Claire’s story is a reminder of the fragility and beauty of life.

Even in suffering, there were moments of grace — the nurse’s smile, the sunlight falling on her blanket, the brief moments of peaceful sleep.

Through every challenge, the family clung to faith, hope, and the light shining within Claire.

They do not know what tomorrow holds, but they hold on to each other and the knowledge that Claire is finally at peace.

Claire will be remembered as a spunky girl with just the right amount of sass, a bright light in the lives of everyone she encountered.

Her courage, kindness, and love leave a legacy far greater than her years.
Ryan House and her family gave her a final chapter filled with dignity, warmth, and unconditional love.

Her transition to heaven marked the end of her earthly suffering, but the beginning of her eternal peace.
The family asks that all who loved Claire continue to pray for her, and for strength and comfort for themselves.
Claire Violet Laibinis may be gone from this world, but the light she brought to it will never fade.

Fly high, sweet Claire.
You will be so deeply missed.
