On Valentine’s Day, while the world celebrated love, our little girl was fighting for her life. Rita underwent her second open-heart surgery — another attempt to rebuild her fragile heart so it could keep beating.
From the moment she was born, every breath, every heartbeat has been a struggle. Her heart wasn’t built like others. It works with only one chamber — a miracle of medical skill and a child’s sheer will to live.
The operation was long and dangerous. Hours passed like years until the words we prayed for finally came: “She’s stable.” But peace never lasts long for children like Rita. Complications soon followed — a narrowing of her aorta, forcing her tiny heart to work harder than ever just to keep her alive.
Still, Rita fights. Despite countless hospital stays, pain, and exhaustion, she smiles. Her courage shines through every scar, reminding us that hope can live even inside the most fragile heart.
The road ahead is long — more tests, more treatments, maybe more surgeries. But we believe in miracles, because we see one every day when we look at her.
Please, stay with us in this fight.

Half a Heart, Whole Courage – Rita’s Miracle Journey
💖 Rita’s Story – A Heart That Beats for Hope
On February 14th, while the world celebrated love, our little girl was fighting for her life once again. That day, Rita underwent another
open-heart surgery — a complex, hours-long procedure known as the Glenn operation. It was her second life-saving surgery, one that would once again reshape her fragile heart into a
single-chambered system.
From the moment she was born, Rita’s life has been a story of courage written in scars. Her tiny heart, unlike others, wasn’t built to function as it should. Each beat was a struggle. Each breath — a victory.

💔 Another Battle for Life
The operating room lights burned bright as a team of skilled surgeons worked tirelessly. Rita’s small body was connected to an extracorporeal circulation machine — an artificial lung and heart that took over her body’s vital functions while her own heart was being repaired.
During the procedure, the superior vena cava — the vein that carries blood from the upper body — was connected directly to the pulmonary artery, allowing blood to flow to the lungs
without passing through the right ventricle.
This meant her only functioning heart chamber could now focus solely on pumping blood through her body. For most children, it would sound terrifying. For Rita, it was a chance at life.
The hours stretched endlessly. For us, her parents, every minute felt like a lifetime. The thought that our daughter’s heart was being rebuilt, that her survival depended on the precision of every stitch, every movement of the surgeon’s hands — it was unbearable.
And then, after what felt like an eternity, we received the call:
“She’s stable.”
Those two words broke us in tears — tears of relief, gratitude, and exhaustion. Rita had made it through another impossible battle.

💗 A Fragile Recovery
In the days that followed, Rita was cared for in the Intensive Care Unit. Surrounded by wires, tubes, and softly beeping monitors, she lay peacefully — her small chest rising and falling with every assisted breath.
We watched her closely, whispering words of love, telling her how proud we were. Each slight movement of her tiny fingers, each blink of her eyes was a sign — a whisper that she was still fighting, still holding on.
After several days, Rita was transferred to the cardiac surgery ward, where her recovery continued. The doctors were cautiously optimistic. They reminded us that with children like Rita, progress comes slowly — one small step at a time.
But just as we began to hope again, another shadow appeared on our horizon.

💔 Another Obstacle — A Narrowed Aorta
During one of her follow-up examinations, the doctors discovered something new —
a narrowing of the aorta, the main artery that carries blood from the heart to the rest of the body.
This narrowing created dangerously high pressure, placing enormous strain on Rita’s only functioning heart chamber. The same chamber that had already endured so much now had to work even harder to keep her alive.
We felt our hearts sink. It was another cruel twist in her already difficult journey. But there was no time for despair — only determination. We knew Rita had come too far to give up now.
Every new complication is a reminder of how fragile her life is — how much strength it takes for her little heart to keep beating.

🌷 A Tiny Fighter with a Giant Spirit
Rita is still so young, yet she’s endured more than most adults will face in a lifetime. Multiple surgeries, countless hospital stays, endless tests — and still, she smiles.
There’s something extraordinary in her eyes. When she looks at us, we see not pain, but defiance. Not weakness, but light.
She laughs softly when we tell her stories, even when her tiny body is covered in bruises from needles. Her smile gives us strength when ours begins to fade. Her spirit reminds us that miracles are not just stories — they’re living, breathing children like her.

💞 The Road Ahead
We know there are still many battles ahead. More checkups. More hospital stays. Possibly more surgeries. But we also know we are not walking this road alone.
Every word of encouragement, every donation, every prayer — they help us keep going. They remind us that the world is full of kindness, that strangers can become part of our family in the fight for Rita’s heart.
It’s hard to describe how much your support means to us. Thanks to you, we’ve been able to cover her treatments, travel for hospital visits, and buy essential medical equipment.
You’ve helped us carry the unbearable weight of fear and turn it into hope.

🙏 Thank You — From the Depths of Our Hearts
We still have a long road ahead, filled with uncertainty. But we have one promise: we will never stop fighting for Rita.
Her heart may be half-formed, but her spirit is whole — strong, brave, and unbreakable.
Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts, for every act of kindness, every thought, every heartbeat you’ve shared with us. Please, stay with us — because together, we can help Rita’s heart keep beating.
