In a candid interview at the 2025 Billboard Women in Music event, Meghan Trainor revealed the secret behind her dramatic weight loss transformation, crediting “science” for her new physique. The singer, known for her hit “All About That Bass,” opened up about the biohacking methods she’s been using to improve her health and wellness, saying, “Science is the secret. I love it.”

Trainor, who is a mother of two, admitted that she had been working out “incorrectly” for years. She explained that she had been doing a lot of cardio and running, which led to her body becoming inflamed. “I was working out so incorrectly for so long. I was running and doing cardio, and my body was inflamed, always,” she shared.

Now, Trainor is exploring biohacking techniques to “age backward” and enhance her physical well-being. “I’m trying to biohack my body,” she said. “Anything that’ll help me age backward, I’m into it.”

One of the key factors in her transformation is the use of NAD (nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide) supplements, which she credits for improving her overall health. “I just learned about the NADs. I was like, ‘Make me Hailey Bieber. I’ll do it. I’ll take it’,” she joked. NAD plays a crucial role in energy production, DNA repair, and immune health, and is known for its anti-aging properties. “It helps keep our cells functioning properly,” explained Emma Wedgwood, an advanced nurse practitioner.

Although Meghan Trainor has always been open about her health journey, her weight loss after giving birth to her first son was particularly transformative. She revealed in 2022 that she lost 60 pounds after her C-section, explaining that the process was gradual but incredibly rewarding. “I was my heaviest I’ve ever been. I was over 200 pounds when I C-sectioned him out. I just wasn’t feeling great,” she recalled.

Trainor embraced a healthy eating routine and learned about portion control, alongside regular exercise, which she found to be vital for her mental and physical well-being. “I learned that I do like healthy food and I learned what portions mean. And I learned my brain is so happy when I exercise, so I’m just [feeling] better than ever,” she said.
