Jessica Biel’s Hilarious Driving Disaster on 7th Heaven Set—She Almost Hit Her Brother!
Jessica Biel has revealed a shocking and funny story from her 7th Heaven days, where she almost hit her brother with her parents’ car while learning how to drive. The actress, who portrayed Mary Camden on the hit TV show, shared the amusing yet terrifying incident during a recent episode of the podcast Catching Up with the Camdens, which she co-hosts with her former 7th Heaven castmates Beverly Mitchell, David Gallagher, and Mackenzie Rosman.
The incident occurred when Biel was still learning to drive, and she was behind the wheel of her parents’ Subaru. “I popped the clutch in my parents’ Subaru when I had my learner’s permit, not my real license,” Biel recalled. “And I flew backwards and reversed into Mackenzie’s school trailer and busted it off its supports. Broke the computer.”
Biel went on to describe how her car accident affected both the vehicle and the trailer. “The computer got smashed, my parents’ car got smashed, and I almost hit my brother,” she added.
The 7th Heaven cast was filming when the accident happened, and Biel remembers the scene vividly. “You came screaming into the studio, because we were shooting, and you were just so shook up,” Mitchell remembered. “And I was like, ‘What happened?’”
Biel, who had already been an actress for years by then, went on to talk about how the set of 7th Heaven provided her with a supportive environment for learning and growing as an actress. “What I remember more than anything is this was live training on how to be an actor and how to work with the camera, how to deal with lighting,” she said. “It was such a warm, loving environment that I think I really had that opportunity to mess up.”
The actress, now 43 years old, shared that the experience on 7th Heaven helped her learn valuable skills and shaped her career moving forward. Biel went on to star in films such as The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, The Illusionist, Next, and Total Recall, but she credits her 7th Heaven experience for preparing her for success in the industry.
