A bachelorette party in Dallas turned into a horrific nightmare for a 27-year-old Oklahoma woman just one month before her wedding. Canada Rinaldi was brutally attacked after leaving a nightclub in the early hours of March 22, 2025.

Rinaldi, who had traveled to Dallas with six friends for her celebration, recalled walking toward her car when the assault happened. “So I remember walking toward the back of the car, and then I remember waking up in an ambulance,” she told FOX 4 Dallas. Her memory of the event is a blur, but the consequences were severe.

The random attack left Rinaldi with a broken nose, several missing teeth, and a concussion. She needed eight stitches to her face. The violence was captured on a rideshare driver’s dash camera, showing Rinaldi on the ground with a man running away.

The attack occurred without any prior confrontation, as described by Rinaldi’s sister, Brienna. “I saw this man walk up behind Canada, and he reached his arm out, and it kind of looked like he was going to take her cowgirl hat off of her head, but then immediately he just threw his arm back and punched her,” Brienna said.

The assailant, 27-year-old Trevon Woodards, was arrested on Friday. Woodards has a criminal history, including charges of assaulting a police officer, misdemeanor assault, and burglary. He had recently been granted parole.

Despite the brutality of the attack, Rinaldi’s sister remained calm and tried to help. “I screamed at him. I said, ‘What’s wrong with you?’” Brienna recalled. “Once I saw Canada, I was just screaming her name, and I remember screaming, ‘My sister, my sister!’”

The Dallas Police Department responded to the scene after being flagged down in the 2600 block of Floyd Street. Officers launched a preliminary investigation and confirmed that Rinaldi and another person had been assaulted. Dallas Fire-Rescue also arrived at the scene.
