Julie Banderas doesn’t hold back and when she decided to announce her divorce, she did it live on-air, full of sarcasm and attitude.

During a cheeky Valentine’s Day segment on Gutfeld! in February 2023, the longtime Fox News anchor dropped the news without warning.

She said: “Well, I am going to get a divorce. I am going to say it right here for the first time.

“Thank you, everyone. Congratulations are in order! That is breaking news!”

She didn’t stop there. “F*** Valentine’s Day. It is stupid even when I was married, I didn’t get s***!”

The moment quickly went viral. Fans praised her honesty and humor. One person joked, “You’re not an adult until you’ve been divorced once,” to which she replied, “Yeah, like 13 years ago.”

Banderas married Andrew Sansone in 2009. They had three children Addison, Melissa, and Avery and seemed like a picture-perfect family. But by late 2022, things had clearly changed. In December, she called him her “soon-to-be ex” in a tweet, and he disappeared from her social media.

That same month, Sansone was arrested after allegedly threatening her with a steak knife. The court later cleared him, suggesting her claims may have been used for leverage. Despite the messy situation, Banderas says she’s happier than ever.

She once joked in her bio: “Basically I’m a full-time cleaning lady who goes to my TV job to relax.”

When a friend texted her after the viral moment saying, “Not sure what I got you for a wedding gift, but I’d like it back now. I love my friends lol.”

As of May 2025, Banderas is single and unbothered. She hasn’t been romantically linked to anyone and is focused on her kids and career. Still on Fox News, she also keeps fans entertained with her sharp humor on social media.

Banderas has also written children’s books. Her first, Fiona’s Fantastical Fort, came out in 2022 and is about resilience. Her second, A Monumental Mistake (2024), focuses on respecting history and authority. Both are part of the Freedom Island series from BRAVE Books.

Whether on-air, online, or in print, Julie Banderas continues to be bold, honest, and completely herself.
