Lauren Alaina and Cam Arnold are the proud parents of a baby girl!
American Idol alum Lauren Alaina and her husband, Cam Arnold, said “I do” in February of 2024. Almost one year later, the couple revealed that they were expecting their first baby.
The announcement was made at the end of Lauren’s music video for her single, “Those Kind Of Women.” The video showed a pregnant Alaina and concluded with a dedication to “my Momma and our sweet Baby Arnold coming summer 2025.” Though Lauren was pregnant during video filming, she admitted that she was barely showing so wore a prosthetic belly for the video.
Just one week later, Lauren and Cam revealed the gender of their baby in a similar fashion. The couple posted a black-and-white video set to “Those Kind Of Women” that showed them painting their pets’ feet and putting their prints on a poster. At the end, the video turns to color to reveal that their first child will be a girl.
In an interview with PEOPLE, Lauren shared that they had decided on a name for their child and that she would be named after a family member.
Friends and family gathered to help celebrate the baby’s impending arrival with a cowgirl-themed baby shower.
In late February, Lauren’s family and friends, including some of her fellow country stars, honored the mom-to-be with a stunning party. Lainey Wilson and Raelynn were among the guests in attendance at the baby shower that was a tribute to Lauren’s country roots.
Decorations of cowboy hats, boots, wild west cookies, and even gifts that fit the theme were shown in a series of photos shared by Lauren.
Baby Arnold made her arrival on Wednesday, June 11.
The couple shared the news on social media, saying: “The right words are hard to find to describe how parts of my heart that I didn’t even knew existed were unlocked at 8:44 am when they laid you on my belly for the first time. I will never be the same.”
Lauren also shared her new daughter’s name: Beni Doll Arnold. The announcement was accompanied by a series of photos of the proud parents and their new addition and the reveal of a new song Lauren wrote for her daughter.
“To celebrate the most precious miracle on Earth, I have decided to release a song I wrote about my daughter. We learned she was coming in a time of deep sadness after the loss of my daddy,” Lauren said of her dad, JJ Suddeth who died in July 2024. “I wasn’t sure when I would share Heaven Sent but watching my own husband become a father the last couple of days has made me want to share it with you now. She came just before Father’s Day. My first without my own father. A day that will forever be hard to me, but I now have a new and perfect reason to celebrate it. Beni’s daddy. My sweet and steady husband. Beni truly is a gift from God that my old man sitting up there in Heaven Sent.”
Prior to baby’s arrival, Lauren told PEOPLE that she knew Cam would be a great father and looked forward to having a family with him.
“My love for him grew that day of getting married, and then finding out we were having a baby together. Walking through this experience with him has been unbelievable,” the “What Ifs” singer said. “I’m looking forward to watching my husband be a dad. He is so obsessed with our animals; he’s a big nurturer in general. In fact, when I was getting ready to marry him, that was something that I knew would be one of the best things about being his wife, was being able to parent with him.”
