One Cheryl Wagner is out of the woods, where it pertains to the Phillies “Karen” saga, but another has become the prime suspect.

Social media is desperate to identify the woman who marched over to a dad and his young son and demanded a home run ball after the father scooped one up during Friday’s clash between the Philadelphia Phillies and Miami Marlins.

Internet sleuths believed they’d ID’d the perp after hours of vigorous searching, but it appears they were wrong, as the woman thought to be the Karen in question has issued a very plausible denial.

Cheryl Richardson-Wagner was forced to release a statement via Facebook on Saturday in which she admitted to being jealous of the woman in question while revealing she’s a Red Sox fan.

She also doesn’t look anything like the Phillies supporter shown in the videos.

“Ok everyone… I’m NOT the crazy Philly Mom (but I sure would love to be as thin as she is and move as fast)… and I’m a Red Sox fan,” she wrote in her post.
While this Cheryl Wagner appears to be innocent, there’s another one out there who has replaced her as Public Enemy No. 1.

This Cheryl isn’t confirmed to be the viral Phillies fan either, so the search remains underway.
