KAY ADAMS had a terrifying ordeal as she narrowly escaped being hit by a golf ball.

The incident happened during the NFLPA Classic, which sees dozens of NFL players battle it out over 18 holes.

Adams was one of the presenters on the sidelines of the action at Mayakoba in Mexico.

She was interviewing Desmond Ritter and admitted her biggest fear was being hit by a ball.

However, disaster almost struck while she was on the microphone as a tee shot from Houston Texans kicker Ka’imi Fairbairn went wayward.

Fairbairn’s shot landed just short of Adams before it bounced back up and hit her.

Fortunately, there were no injuries and Adams was able to laugh it off, but not before saying she had given some grief to the culprit.

Speaking after the incident on the Up and Adams show, she said: “What do we expect?

“72 of your favorite NFL players who are yoked (drunk) out of their minds and competitive and don’t have any accuracy.

“My head was on a swivel.

“I was very much in the golf cart, I had the shade up the entire time.

“Desmond literally said: ‘You’re in prime range to get hit… I think you should move’.”

Adams was initially told Denver Broncos wide receiver Courtland Sutton was behind the shot before finding out it was actually Fairbairn.

She continued: “I was like, ‘I’m suing you, I’m mad at you, I can’t believe you just did that’… and then we found the culprit.”

Fairbairn, 31, had a unique way of apologising for the incident.

Adams explained: “I talked to him after and gave him a lot of grief for it and it means it’s just hilarious it would happen to me.

“By the way, the rizz on this guy.

“Off the charts aura.

“He comes over and he gave me a glove.

“It says ‘Help me out next time’.

“And he signed his golf classic glove because he was joking with me couldn’t I have helped him out a little, pushed it [the ball] towards the hole.”
