Aëla Rolland was born on December 31, 2018.
She came into the world as the last spark of a year ending, and the first light of a new chapter.
A tiny soul wrapped in love, destined to bring warmth to everyone she met.

From the very beginning, she carried gentleness in her smile and kindness in her heart.
She was sweet, loving, and caring — a little girl who radiated joy in every step she took.

On May 16, 2025, after 11 months of fighting DIPG, Aëla’s earthly journey came to an end.
She was only 6 years old.
Forever six.

Forever cherished.
Forever remembered.
Aëla’s life, though brief, was filled with light.

She loved to sing.
Her little voice could brighten even the heaviest of days.
She loved to dance.

Her small feet twirled and skipped, carrying with them laughter and delight.
She loved Peter Pan, her favorite movie.

Time and time again, she would watch it, captivated by the magic of a boy who never grew old, of adventures in the sky, of a world where imagination never ended.
Perhaps, in her own way, Peter Pan reflected her spirit.
Playful.
Adventurous.
Timeless.

When the illness came, it tried to steal her joy.
But Aëla refused to let go of who she was.
She sang through the pain.

She danced through the fear.
She loved through the suffering.

And in doing so, she taught her family, and everyone who knew her, what it truly means to live.
Her mother, Meg Rolland, shared words heavy with grief and love.
“It is with a very heavy heart and great sorrow that Aëla flew into the sky, with Peter Pan this morning near Paulin and I.”

In those words lies the picture of a little girl soaring away, no longer bound by illness, finally free.
Not gone.
But flying.

Flying with Peter Pan, into the skies of eternity.
The image is painful, yet tender.
It carries sorrow, but also peace.

It reminds us that Aëla’s story does not end here.
Because love does not end.
Her family held her, loved her, and walked with her through every step of her battle.

And now, they hold her in their hearts forever.
Aëla’s sweetness, her kindness, her love — these remain.
They remain in the songs she sang.

They remain in the dances she loved.
They remain in every memory she left behind.
Her six years were filled with treasures that no illness could ever erase.

The world may measure life in years, but her life is measured in love.
And by that measure, her life was full.
Her spirit continues to shine in all who knew her.

In every child who sings.
In every child who dances.
In every moment of Peter Pan played on a screen, when a child’s eyes light up with wonder.

That is where Aëla lives on.
Forever young.
Forever loved.

Now she rests in heaven, free from pain, surrounded by love greater than we can imagine.
Rest in heaven, sweet girl.
You are loved beyond words.
And you are missed beyond measure.
