Bruce Springsteen has been a vocal critic of Donald Trump in recent months and offered a powerful message about the United States during an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Tuesday evening.

Bruce Springsteen delivered a compelling message for America during his appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! last night.

The 76 year old rocker, famously known as The Boss, has emerged as a vocal critic of President Donald Trump, with the two exchanging sharp barbs publicly on social media over recent months. Just days earlier, Bruce slammed Trump as “corrupt and incompetent” while demanding his impeachment.

More recently, at the New York Film Festival, Bruce declared “we’ve fallen short of our ideals” as he continued his assault on the Trump administration. Meanwhile, Springsteen spoke out on what he feels when it comes to Donald Trump’s insults about him, as he said how people who ‘believe in democracy’ need to rise up.

hardships and American identity into his music, the legendary performer has become increasingly outspoken about what he views as mounting dangers to democracy and national unity since Trump’s return to the White House.

During last night’s appearance on Jimmy’s show, which has been filming from Brooklyn in New York City this week, the duo discussed the current political climate across the US. Jimmy posed the question: “Bruce, you have been .. I think you have spoken very beautifully, I think, about the state of this country and the world, and I was wondering .. if you had anything positive to share with us, to inspire us? Because not too many people do,” reports the Irish Star.

After the crowd erupted in cheers and laughter, Bruce responded, “Oh man, you put me on the spot now. 50 years I’ve been kind of a musical ambassador for America around the world and I played, you know .. I have this song, Land of Hope and Dreams, which is kind of a prayer to the country and I’ve played it, we’ve played it every night to, like I said, millions of people.”

He then delivered a stirring message, declaring, “And I know for a fact that that’s how many people around the world still see our country. Not as a land of fear, not as a land of divisiveness, not of government censorship, you know, not of hatred, you know. And I basically believe that that’s an America that’s worth fighting for.”

Following the official Jimmy Kimmel Live! Instagram account posting the footage, countless supporters applauded Bruce for his comments.

One commented, “Beautifully said, as always. I remember the first time I heard that song live, in Tacoma and I got emotional and it felt like church and like back in the early days at those shows. He’s the boss.”

“LOVE THIS BOSS! A TRUE PATRIOT,” declared another, while a third posted, “And that’s why he’s THE BOSS!” Another fan chimed in, “Bruce is America’s musical ambassador and her favorite son to the world.”

During the screening of Springsteen: Deliver me from Nowhere last weekend, Bruce Springsteen took a stand against “hatred” in America.

Before performing his hit song Land of Hope and Dream at Lincoln Center in New York, he told the audience, “These days…we have daily events reminding us of the fact that we’re living through these particularly dangerous times.”

He went on to say that he has spent his life on the road “as kind of a musical ambassador for America…trying to measure the distance between American reality, where we’ve often fallen short of our ideals, and the American dream.”
