Following their divorce in August, Jennifer Lopez recently purchased a $18 million home in the Hidden Hills neighborhood of Los Angeles, California. Those who closely follow her relationship with her ex-husband, Ben Affleck, noticed that they are now living about an hour away from each other, however, a source shared the real reason for her change of scenery with the Daily Mail.
“[Lopez] wanted to get out of the hustle and bustle of the city and have a more relaxed home life in Hidden Hills,” the insider told the outlet. “It has nothing to do with getting away from Ben and his family and Jennifer and their kids. She is okay with them. It is about being in a more relaxed environment.”
The source added that the gated community has heightened security and is a safer environment for her children. “This way, she doesn’t have to worry if Max rides his bicycle down a street or if Emme goes for a walk with a friend.”
Lopez and Emme recently attended the premiere of Jake Gyllenhaal and Denzel Washington’s revival of Othello on Broadway. The singer brought the 17 year old, who wore a tailored black-and-white pinstripe suit, while Lopez opted for a two-piece Zuhair Murad ensemble. She posted a set of photos from the event to Instagram calling Emme, “the best date ever.”
