“Sometimes timing isn’t what you plan and the road to get there is bumpier than you expect.”
Ms. Rachel is a mom of two!
The YouTuber, whose real name is Rachel Griffin Accurso, and her husband, Aron Accurso, have added a baby girl to their family.
Ms. Rachel announced the news on Instagram on April 8. In the photo, she gazes adoringly at her newborn daughter, who is sleeping on her mama’s chest.
“We welcomed sweet baby Susannah into the world! We are so in love!” Ms. Rachel wrote. “Sometimes timing isn’t what you plan and the road to get there is bumpier than you expect, but when you hold your little ones you know… I’m meant to be your mama.”
“I was unable to carry this pregnancy for medical reasons and we were blessed to have a surrogate who gave us the most precious gift possible,” Ms. Rachel continued. “We are now all family forever. We have immense gratitude and a deep bond. It’s been a truly beautiful experience. I’m in awe of her.”
“Aron — Thank you for being the best husband and dada,” she added.
Susannah joined big brother Thomas, 7.
Ms. Rachel’s last YouTube video was posted in January. In March, she explained her two-month hiatus from the channel, sharing that it was due to family matters.
In 2024, Ms. Rachel revealed that Thomas was born after a miscarriage. The experience inspired a song for her “rainbow baby.”
In her video, Ms. Rachel sits at a piano and sings the lyrics: “Rainbow baby, dream come true. Rainbow baby, if you knew, every prayer we said for you. Rainbow baby, dream come true.”
Ms. Rachel is best known for her educational video series and she regularly gets stopped in the street by starstruck toddlers — and their parents.
Alongside her cast, which includes her Broadway composer husband, Ms. Rachel uses music to make language learning more fun. Her songs are also designed to encourage movement, listening skills and social emotional growth.
In January, a curated compilation of Ms. Rachel’s videos became available on Netflix.
