The Yellowstone star is experiencing dramas both on and off the set.
Hollywood actor Kevin Costner’s wife Christine Baumgartner has filed for divorce after 18 years of marriage.
A representative for the Yellowstone actor released a statement to the New York Post confirming the news on Tuesday.

“It is with great sadness that circumstances beyond his control have transpired which have resulted in Mr Costner having to participate in a dissolution of marriage action,” the statement read.
“We ask that his, Christine’s and their children’s privacy be respected as they navigate this difficult time.”
Handbag designer Baumgartner, 49, and Costner, 68, have three children together: Cayden, 15, Hayes, 14, and Grace, 12.

Baumgartner signed a pre-nup agreement and is not seeking spousal support, according to TMZ.
It’s not clear what lead to the split, with Baumgartner simply citing “irreconcilable differences”.
However, a source recently told Radar that Baumgartner had given Costner an “ultimatum” in October 2022 to quit the hit Western drama Yellowstone, which he has starred in for five seasons.

Costner was away from the family’s LA base for months at a time to film the TV drama in Montana, Radar reported.
“It’s really knocked a hole in their family life,” the source said.
“She wants a firm commitment this is his last season — or he might have to hit the dusty trail.”

This was Costner’s second marriage.
The Bodyguard star’s first wife was Cindy Silva, to whom he was married from 1978 to 1994.
They had three children together: Annie, now 39, Lily, 36, and Joe, 35.
Costner also shares a son Liam, now 27, with actress Bridget Rooney, meaning he has seven children to three women.

The divorce news comes amid reports Costner was embroiled in on-set tensions with Yellowstone creator Taylor Sheridan.
Part of the tensions related to disagreements over shooting schedules.
In February, speculation that Costner may be leaving the hit drama reached such a fevered pitch that Paramount was forced to issue a formal response.
“We have no news to report,” a spokesperson for Paramount said in a statement to CNN.
“Kevin Costner is a big part of Yellowstone and we hope that’s the case for a long time to come,” the statement read.
“Thanks to the brilliant mind of Taylor Sheridan, we are always working on franchise expansions of this incredible world he has built.”

Deadline reported in February that Sheridan was working with Paramount to potentially wrap up the series in its current form and launch a franchise that would continue the Dutton family’s story and possibly star Matthew McConaughey.
In March, it was confirmed that a spin-off, called 6666, was in the works, with a release date slated for some time in 2024.
No cast members have been confirmed yet, so whether McConaughey has signed on the dotted line remains unknown.
