Joy-Ann Reid Shocks Media World: Launches Bold New Series ‘The Joy Reid Show’—Vows to Give Voice to the Silenced and Expose Hidden Truths! Network Shakeup, Powerful Guests, and Unfiltered Stories—How Reid’s Return Promises to Change Television Forever! Full Details and Exclusive Interviews Inside!

You can’t keep a good woman down for long. Acclaimed journalist and political analyst Joy-Ann Reid, whose brave and brash commentary was the voice for many, is launching a new platform, The Joy Reid Show, on June 9. And this time, no one can silence her. The new series will launch with a three-day stream every Monday, Wednesday and Friday across YouTube and all major podcast platforms.

Throughout my career, I’ve been proud to serve as a trustworthy voice in journalism, particularly as a Black woman in spaces where the perspectives of women, and particularly women of color, are too often underrepresented,” Reid shared via a statement.

Offering a mix of news analysis, commentary and special guests, Reid will open her series with comedian Amber Ruffin, who was axed from performing at the White House correspondents’ dinner after angering the current presidential administration, according to AP News. Ebrahim Rasool, the former South African ambassador to the U.S., will also appear. A special preview episode will feature Newark Mayor and 2025 gubernatorial candidate Ras Baraka, airing just ahead of New Jersey’s pivotal June 10 primary.

Reid was the first Black woman to helm a news series, The ReidOut, at MSNBC, which was launched at the height of the 2020 political election period. Her show was abruptly cancelled in February 2025, leaving many to speculate where The Man Who Sold America author—who didn’t back down to bullying or threats—would land.

Produced by Image Lab Media Group and based in Washington, D.C., The Joy Reid Show will offer two days of deep-dive analysis and rapid-fire commentary on trending political, entertainment and cultural headlines. She’ll serve up “Freestyle Fridays”, which will feature a live, interactive segment between Reid, viewers and guests. Incorporating fan-favorite segments like “Who Won the Week?,” Reid plans to expand the show to a five-day-a-week format later this year and integrate her 160,000+ Joy’s House Substack subscribers into the experience.

“This new podcast marks an exciting new chapter—an opportunity to reach broader audiences, build vibrant communities, and lead thoughtful conversations on the issues that matter, she concluded. “I’m looking forward to offering a perspective that is both informed and unapologetically authentic.”
