After ABC News unceremoniously parted ways with Terry Moran, Jon Stewart is calling out a double standard in broadcast journalism.

The comedian recently clarified whether he agrees with the news network’s decision not to renew the reporter’s contract over a since-deleted social media post criticizing President Donald Trump and his top aide Stephen Miller.

“Of course not. So stupid. No, for God’s sake,” said on The Weekly Show podcast, calling ABC News “a f—ing joke.”

“Literally every day on Fox News they’re taking stuff out of context or their people are saying utterly vicious things about democratic politicians. The entire thing is because ABC clings to this facade that they somehow exist in a bubble outside all of this.

After suspending him on Sunday over a post the referred to Trump and Miller each as a “world class hater,” ABC News announced that the company has decided not to renew Moran’s contract.

“We are at the end of our agreement with Terry Moran and based on his recent post – which was a clear violation of ABC News policies – we have made the decision to not renew,” said a network spokesperson. “At ABC News, we hold all of our reporters to the highest standards of objectivity, fairness and professionalism, and we remain committed to delivering straightforward, trusted journalism.”

Moran, the senior national correspondent for ABC News, has been with the network since 1997. Less than two months ago, he sat down with Trump for an Oval Office interview marking the president’s first 100 days. The interview got testy at times, but Moran drew praise for his questions and followups.
