Meredith Gaudreau announced her pregnancy on Sept. 9 at Johnny’s memorial service
Meredith Gaudreau is officially a mom of three.
The wife of Johnny Gaudreau welcomed her third baby, son Carter Michael Gaudreau, on Tuesday, April 1, seven months after her late husband was tragically killed while biking alongside his brother Matthew.
Gaudreau announced the news of their baby boy on Monday, April 7 via Instagram with a 14-photo carousel, including photos of the family in the delivery room and sweet photos with her three children.
“I had our third baby! 4/1/25. Another baby boy 🥹💙” she wrote in the caption. “Carter Michael Gaudreau – same middle name as his daddy. 8lb 3 ounces, 20.5 inches – exact same as his daddy
He looks exactly like his daddy too 🥰.”
“I love you so much my baby!” she added. “We are going to have so much fun. I can’t wait to give you the best life, my special boy forever.”
Meredith’s new addition comes three months after Madeline Gaudreau, the wife of Johnny’s brother Matthew, welcomed their first baby boy, Tripp Matthew, a few months after the brothers’ death.
On Aug. 29, Johnny and Matthew were biking on Country Route 551 North just after 8 p.m. when a driver suspected to be under the influence of alcohol attempted to pass another car and fatally hit the brothers, New Jersey State Police told PEOPLE. The driver, Sean M. Higgins, was charged with two counts of death by auto and arrested, and the investigation is ongoing, police said.
During a memorial service for the Gaudreau brothers on Sept. 9, Meredith announced that she was 9 months pregnant with another child with her late husband.

“John and I had the best six months as a family of four. These will forever be the best six months of my life,” Meredith said, according to ABC News. “There’s specifically one week that I will cherish forever — it will be my favorite week of my life out of those six months. We’re actually a family of five. I’m in my ninth week of pregnancy with our third baby.”
On Aug. 31, Meredith released a statement about her husband’s death, sharing two posts on Instagram where she paid tribute to him as a partner and father. “Thank you for the best years of my life. Despite losing you, I am still the luckiest girl in the world to have been yours. I love you so so much,” she began the caption of the first post.

Meredith continued, adding, “You were perfect. Some days it felt too good to be true. I love every single thing about you. You are my forever and I can’t wait to be with you again. I love you so much forever and ever.”
Alongside her emotional tribute to her husband, she posted a carousel of images, beginning with a photo of herself and Johnny with their two children — daughter Noa and son Johnny — sitting at a table that featured a 31st birthday cake (Johnny had turned 31 on Aug. 13).
In a second post, Meredith honored Johnny as a dad, describing him as the “best partner” to be a parent with and sharing that he was the “best” at putting their baby son to bed and was the “apple” of their daughter’s eye.
“The absolute best dad in the world. So caring and loving. The best partner to go through parenthood with. John never missed a single appointment,” she wrote, adding, “Was the best at putting the baby to sleep and the Apple of Noa’s eye. I love how much she looks like him. We are going to make you proud. We love you so so so much daddy.”
Her second tribute to her husband also included photos of Johnny with the couple’s children over the years, including hanging out at home and on outings to the beach and the pool, as well as watching him play hockey.
