In a moving and deeply courageous announcement, Kat Timpf—a familiar face on FOX News—revealed that she will undergo a double mastectomy after being diagnosed with early-stage breast cancer.
At 36 years old and having just welcomed her first child, Timpf faced her greatest challenge head-on. On her personal social media, she posted a photo outside Manhattan’s Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, accompanied by a message that was pure “Kat”—witty, sharp, yet brimming with resilience:

“After I recover from childbirth, let the minor incisions heal, have my breasts removed, get rid of the cancer, reconstruct my chest, and (hopefully) return to the gym… THEN IT’S ALL OVER, FOLKS!!!”
Back in February, Timpf first disclosed her health battle in a post that doubled as both a birth announcement and… a cancer diagnosis. “Don’t freak out. It’s just a LITTLE cancer,” she wrote, explaining that the disease was detected at Stage 0—one of the earliest and most treatable phases.
It’s hard to imagine: just 15 hours before giving birth, Kat learned she had cancer. From “doing everything to push the baby out” to planning “how to push cancer out of my body”—all in the same day. A day she aptly called “not chill at all.”

“That afternoon, I was scrambling to consult doctors about surgery—even asked for a printout of my tumor ultrasound to place next to my baby’s sonogram. By nightfall, I was crawling on the floor in labor pain. The next morning, my son was born.”
What was supposed to be a three-month maternity leave has now become a dual recovery journey—from embracing motherhood to fighting for her life. But nothing can keep this woman down.
