In a candid appearance on The Megyn Kelly Show, Leavitt recalled meeting Nicolas Riccio in 2022 during a political event at a New Hampshire restaurant. She had been running for Congress at the time, and though she won the Republican nomination, she lost the election to Democrat Chris Pappas. Yet, the political loss came with a personal gain—the unexpected meeting that would change her life forever.
“A mutual friend hosted an event at a restaurant owned by Nicolas,” Leavitt explained. “I was there to speak, and we were introduced. At first, we were friends. But it didn’t take long before we realized we were falling in love.”
Initially, Karoline admitted having concerns about the age difference. But as their relationship grew, those worries quickly melted away. “It became clear that our connection was much deeper than any numbers could define,” she told Kelly.
Finding Strength in Each Other
In the interview, Karoline passionately described her husband as her “greatest supporter, best friend, and rock.” Riccio, an accomplished real estate developer, has wholeheartedly supported Karoline’s meteoric rise in the political arena.
