Karoline Leavitt Slams Justice Amy Coney Barrett Over ‘Betrayal’ in Controversial Deportation Ruling

In a fiery statement from the White House, Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt took a subtle but unmistakable jab at Supreme Court Justice Amy Coney Barrett, after Barrett unexpectedly sided with the liberal justices to oppose former President Donald Trump’s controversial deportation flights to El Salvador.

The explosive decision came in a tense 5-4 Supreme Court ruling, ultimately allowing the administration to resume deporting alleged gang members and suspected criminals. But the conservative disappointment with Barrett’s defection was clear.

Speaking from the White House briefing room, Leavitt called the ruling a “massive legal victory,” but quickly made it clear the administration wasn’t entirely satisfied:

“Certainly, we wish this was a nine-to-nothing decision, because we firmly believe the president was well within his constitutional authority,” Leavitt declared.

While she carefully avoided mentioning Barrett by name, Leavitt’s pointed comments left no doubt as to whom she was referring:

“We called on the Supreme Court to rein in judges who act as judicial activists rather than impartial arbiters of the law. Yesterday, that’s exactly what the Supreme Court did—at least the majority of them.”

Leavitt also took direct aim at federal judge James Boasberg, who had temporarily halted the deportations due to legal concerns. She labeled Boasberg a “rogue, low-level judge,” claiming he had attempted to undermine Trump’s executive authority as Commander-in-Chief.

However, the decision came with an important catch: The Court ruled that detainees must be given an opportunity for judicial review before deportation—potentially limiting the administration’s power.

This development has sparked intense debate online, as conservatives question Barrett’s loyalty, and liberals celebrate her unexpected decision as a sign of judicial independence.
