Bret and Amy have two sons. Their first son, Paul Francis Baier, was born on June 29, 2007. However, just one day later, Paul underwent life-saving heart surgery after discovering a congenital defect. After multiple surgeries, Paul still lives with heart-related health problems.

Bret recalled the terrifying moment when the doctor told him that if Paul didn’t get surgery right away, he wouldn’t survive. “If your son doesn’t get surgery in two weeks, he’s not going to make it,” the doctor’s words echoed in his head. “Everything just stopped,” Bret said of that moment.

Despite the great challenges, the family remained resilient, and they welcomed their second son, Daniel Bret Baier, on July 10, 2010. The couple dedicated their lives to caring for, loving, and supporting their children, especially during Paulie’s journey through health challenges.
