THE VIEW SHOCKER: Sunny Hostin Announces Sad Goodbye After 10 Years—The Studio Is Closing, But Season 28 Is Coming! What She Revealed on Air Left Fans Stunned, and Why Viewers Thought the Show Was Canceled—Here’s the Truth Behind the Move That Changed Everything.

After swirling rumors of cancellation and growing tensions on the panel, The View has finally broken its silence — and it came straight from co-host Sunny Hostin during Friday’s episode. In a bittersweet moment, Hostin confirmed that the long-running daytime talk show will not be canceled, but it will be undergoing a major change ahead of its 28th season.

Coming back from a commercial break, Joy Behar handed the floor to Sunny for what was described as an “exciting announcement.” That’s when the 55-year-old co-host dropped the bombshell:

“This is the final episode of the season. And after 10 years and 2,143 episodes, this is also the last show that we will do from this studio.”

Sunny acknowledged the emotional weight of leaving behind the set they’ve called home for over a decade, but she assured viewers that the move is part of an exciting next chapter:

“We’re sad to say goodbye, but we are thrilled to be moving to a brand-new studio downtown, state-of-the-art. And we will see you there in September for Season 28 of The View.”

That’s right — despite online speculation, the show will return after Labor Day.

Since its debut in 1997, The View has been through multiple studio moves and cast shakeups. After filming at ABC Television Studio 23 until 2014, the show moved to the ABC Broadcast Center. Now, it’s preparing to relocate once again, although the exact new studio location has yet to be announced.

But one thing is certain: the core cast isn’t going anywhere. All six co-hosts — Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Sunny Hostin, Sara Haines, Ana Navarro, and Alyssa Farah Griffin — are slated to return for Season 28.

The announcement sparked laughter and a bit of drama as the ladies revealed how they were handling the move. Joy Behar joked about how moving allows for “purging” unwanted items, to which Sunny and Sara agreed — sort of.

Sunny teased her co-hosts over their packing habits, calling out Sara Haines for maxing out all five packing boxes and asking for more. “You’re going to move all of this junk to the next office?” Joy asked, to which Sara shot back, “It’s not junk.”

Sunny also turned the spotlight on Ana Navarro, accusing her of being a “non-purger” because of her extensive shoe collection — reportedly over 50 pairs in her dressing room. Ana playfully defended herself: “I love all of my shoes. I have no children and my shoes and my dog are my children.”

Alyssa Farah Griffin, on the other hand, claimed the minimalist title, admitting she used just one box to pack up her things.

The announcement comes on the heels of The View facing intense criticism online. In recent months, viewers have called for ABC to cancel the show altogether, accusing the hosts of being “horrible” and “disrespectful,” particularly during politically heated segments.

Tweets such as “Can we cancel The View? I never saw such hateful human beings,” and “@ABCnetwork cancel The View. It is disgusting!!!” went viral, leading many to believe the show’s days were numbered.

But as Hostin and insiders have made clear, The View isn’t going anywhere. In fact, a source told The U.S. Sun that despite the online noise, The View’s ratings are “off the charts” and Season 28 is set to return as scheduled.

After 10 years and over 2,000 episodes in their current studio, the emotional farewell marks both an end and a new beginning. With a brand-new studio awaiting the co-hosts downtown, The View is showing no signs of slowing down.

Whether you tune in for the fiery political debates, the viral Hot Topics, or just to see who claps back the loudest, one thing is certain — when September rolls around, The View will be back, louder and bolder than ever.
