NEW YORK – Once hailed as a refreshing voice in late-night talk, Gutfeld! is now facing serious backlash from its own loyal audience. The reason? One name: Tyrus.

Known for his bold persona and strong presence, Tyrus — former pro wrestler and political commentator — is now being accused of turning Gutfeld! into his own personal platform. Frustrated fans say they only tune in for Greg Gutfeld’s opening monologue and promptly switch off when Tyrus starts talking.

“He doesn’t let anyone finish a sentence, always interrupts, always acts like he’s the smartest one in the room. I came for witty debates, not bullying,” one viral post with over 3,500 shares on X (formerly Twitter) reads.

Gutfeld! gained popularity by blending sharp political commentary with humor, featuring regulars like Emily Compagno, Dave Landau, and of course, Tyrus. But many viewers now say the roundtable discussions feel “tense and exhausting” as Tyrus constantly talks over others and dominates the conversation.

“It used to feel like a smart group of friends chatting. Now it’s like watching someone hijack the mic every night,” a Reddit user commented.

While Gutfeld! still leads among late-night political shows, media analysts warn the show is at risk of alienating its core viewership if it doesn’t make changes soon.

“Audiences can forgive a bad joke — but not the feeling of being forced to sit through one guy steamrolling everyone else,” said Nancy Field, a media analyst at MediaDecoder.

So far, host Greg Gutfeld has remained silent amid growing backlash. But fans are making their demands loud and clear across social platforms, calling on the show to:

Limit Tyrus’s speaking time

Ensure equal airtime for all guests

Or in some cases — remove him altogether

Will Greg protect a long-time co-host or listen to fans to save the show? It’s a tough choice — but one that may determine the future of Gutfeld! in prime time.
