Joy Behar Surprises The View Co-hosts with News of the Show’s Upcoming Hiatus

The View' Hiatus: Joy Behar Accidentally Reveals News of the Upcoming Break

In a moment that left her The View cohosts stunned, Joy Behar unexpectedly let slip that the show would be going on hiatus sooner than expected. The news was dropped at the start of the Thursday, July 24 episode, catching everyone off guard.

“Before we go on hiatus, we only have one more show after this, I’m allowed to say that, right?” Behar asked, with a playful tone. Alyssa Farah Griffin laughed and responded, “Too late now!” In the background, a producer chimed in with a laid-back comment, “Doesn’t really matter.”

A source confirmed to TV Insider that the show will begin its annual summer hiatus next week. The break is a typical occurrence every year, with The View taking time off in August before returning after Labor Day. This year, however, the break will begin on Monday, July 28, which is a few days earlier than usual. That means only one more episode—on Friday, July 25—before the show takes a break for several weeks.

This early hiatus comes after the show had already taken a week off earlier in the summer for the July 4 holiday, which has become a standard break for the talk show.

A Stir on Social Media

Behar’s offhand comment about the hiatus sparked some buzz on social media, with many fans speculating about the break’s timing. Some even began to wonder if The View might face a similar fate to The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, which was recently canceled by CBS following a controversial settlement between parent company Paramount and former President Donald Trump.

This left many viewers questioning whether The View would also face cancellation or undergo significant changes, though there is no official indication that the show’s break will become permanent.

Hot Topics and Controversy

Following Behar’s slip, the conversation quickly turned to current events, as the hosts dove into the ongoing controversy surrounding Donald Trump and the Jeffrey Epstein files. The Hot Topics segment opened with a discussion about the recent Wall Street Journal report, in which Attorney General Pam Bondi allegedly told Trump that his name appeared multiple times in the Epstein files.

While the hiatus news generated a stir, The View remains a staple of daytime television, and fans are eagerly awaiting its return after the summer break.

The View airs weekdays at 11 a.m. ET on ABC.
