Fiona Phillips’ husband Martin Frizell shared a heartbreaking Mother’s Day tribute as he reflected on his wife’s Alzheimer’s struggles.
Former presenter Phillips, 64, was told she had Alzheimer’s in 2022, sharing the news publicly a year later.
On Sunday, Phillips’ husband and former This Morning boss Frizell shared an emotional update as he posted a photo of his wife.
Sharing the snap, taken four years ago, he wrote in a candid admission: “If Mother’s Day is tough, you’re not alone.

“Share the good times. This was Fiona four years ago just before symptoms started. It’s my favourite picture of a wonderful mum.”
The photo of the mother-of-two saw her smiling broadly and waving at the camera.
A follow-up post by Frizell showed a specially engraved glass Phillips received in 2007 after being crowned “Mum of the Year”.
The poignant social media post comes just weeks after Phillips shared an update on her condition.

Last month, Phillips talked about how she has written a book detailing her journey, with the help of her husband.
Remember When is set to be published in July, with Phillips documenting her experience so far.
“I hope this book can show people a little about what it is like to live with Alzheimer’s,” she explained.
The presenter continued: “How frightening and confusing it is. But also how much life can still bring joy and be valued.
“And if you or someone you love is in the early stages of Alzheimer’s, I hope this book brings you some comfort. I want you to know, you are not alone,” MailOnline reports.
It’s understood the book explores the early warning signs and gradual memory loss and confusion. Frizell has also shared his experience in the publication.
Following her diagnosis, Phillips revealed she was put on a drugs trial in an effort to slow down the symptoms, which she has since confirmed seems to be working for her.
Speaking previously, she explained: “I’m on a clinical trial and the signs are positive.

“I’m taking part in a revolutionary drug trial that’s trying to find a cure. It involves a brand-new drug and a placebo, and I have no idea which one I’m on.”
Speaking to Women And Home magazine, she added: “When I went for my six-month check-up in October, they did cognitive tests to see where my brain was at, which showed that I was in the same place as I was the previous year.
“I’m hopeful that the drug is holding the disease where it is. I’d rather not have to be on the trial but I’m very grateful I am.”
