Fox News Media has announced a dynamic programming shakeup, putting the spotlight on longtime commentator and host Will Cain. The network revealed that Cain will take the reins of his very own weekday show, The Will Cain Show, which will air in the highly coveted 4 PM ET timeslot, effective immediately.
Cain, who has been a trusted voice on Fox News for the past four years, is excited to embark on this new chapter in his career. “It has been an honor to wake up with America these past four years, and I’m thrilled to apply my background in news, law, entertainment, and business to help our viewers better understand the headlines through thought-provoking content and analysis every weekday afternoon,” Cain said in a statement.
What’s New on the Air:
A Fresh Podcast-Style Format: The Will Cain Show promises to bring a unique approach to news commentary, combining the depth of podcast storytelling with live, engaging conversations. Viewers can expect a more immersive experience as Cain dives deep into the day’s biggest stories.
Insightful Interviews: The show will feature dynamic discussions with influential newsmakers from various sectors, including politics, business, culture, and sports, ensuring a well-rounded look at current events. Cain’s ability to navigate complex issues with clarity and thoughtfulness is expected to resonate with Fox News viewers.
A Smooth Transition:
As part of this programming shift, Cain will make his final appearance on Fox & Friends Weekend on January 18. Taking over Cain’s previous role on the weekend program will be Fox News contributor Charlie Hurt, who is also the opinion editor at The Washington Times. Hurt will be joining Fox News full-time, further solidifying the network’s commitment to a diverse range of voices.
Fox News Media CEO Suzanne Scott shared her enthusiasm about the transition, noting, “As the media landscape continues to evolve, we are always looking to innovate our programming lineup to meet the needs of our viewers. We are confident the new lineup will best position FOX News Media for the future. Will Cain brings years of experience as an accomplished broadcaster and lawyer, and we look forward to his unique insights as we navigate another historic news cycle this year.”
Beyond Television:
In addition to his television role, Cain will continue to host The Will Cain Show in podcast form from Monday to Thursday. This dual-platform approach allows Cain to engage with his audience across both traditional broadcasting and the podcast world, making his insights even more accessible. With a focus on news, sports, and interactive listener engagement, Cain is set to provide fresh and innovative content that pushes the boundaries of typical broadcast programming.
Cain couldn’t contain his excitement, taking to X (formerly Twitter) to share the news: “So I’ve got some news. And I couldn’t be more excited!”
A familiar face in the broadcasting world, Cain’s career highlights include stints as a contributor for ESPN, where he hosted his own show on ESPN Radio from January 2018 to June 2020, as well as his work with CNN and Blaze Media. His diverse background positions him perfectly to offer a unique perspective to Fox News viewers.
New Faces, New Opportunities:
Fox News also announced another major addition to its lineup: Dagen McDowell will join The Big Money Show on Fox Business Network. Starting January 27, the show will expand to a 12-2 PM ET weekday slot, while McDowell continues to co-host The Bottom Line from 6-7 PM ET.
These programming changes mark the beginning of an exciting new era for Fox News, with fresh talent and innovative content. As Will Cain and the rest of the Fox team bring new perspectives to screens and airwaves nationwide, viewers can look forward to engaging and thought-provoking insights on current events and beyond.
Stay tuned for more as Fox News continues to reshape its future with a bold new lineup that promises to redefine how news is consumed in the digital age.
