Carrie Underwood rose to prominence after competing on and then winning the fourth season of American Idol.
Since then, she has become a major star in the entertainment industry.
After marrying musician Mike Fisher, the singer became a mother of two.
This past weekend marked the beginning of Carrie Underwood’s newest tour, Denim & Rhinestones. The singer promoted her upcoming tour with appearances on shows including Today.
The musician/singer/mother of two manages to do it all. And now that her kids are older, she says they understand why mom has to be gone for such stretches of time.

Isiah, her 7-year-old son, is starting to wonder what his mom does for a career. She said, “He’s getting more aware of my fame.”
“I feel like, Isaiah, who’s 7½, he’s becoming more aware that it’s not normal,” she said, talking about how her son is more aware that people know who his mother is.

“He’ll go to school and someone will be like, ‘I saw your mom on TV last night,’ ” she went on. “He’s just becoming more aware that his mom does something that’s not normal.”
The country singer and her husband, a former hockey player, have two sons together named Isiah and Jacob. It’s safe to assume that the boys will quickly learn that both their mom and dad are famous people.
Her desire to spend as much time as possible with her sons is stronger than ever as she embarks on this tour.
She has everything all out, including when to return home and when to have the lads join her on tour.

“This tour, I’m going home a lot more than I ever have before,” she added. “If there’s a way to get me home, even if it’s just for the day.”
Being a working mother is challenging in and of itself, but being a working mother with a high-stakes career that requires frequent travel is particularly trying. Carrie Underwood, props for attempting moderation!
